BARTHOLDI FREDERIC AUGUSTE: (1834-1904) French sculptor, best known for designing the Statue of Liberty ( ‘Liberty Enlightening the World’). A.N.S., with his monogram AB, to the recto of his personal printed oblong 12mo Visiting Card, featuring his printed name ( 'Augte. Bartholdi') to the centre and address as Rue Vavin (Paris) to the base, n.d., in French. Bartholdi writes, in full, 'Recevez tous mes remerciements pour vos affectueuses sympathies avec mes amities les plus cordiales' (Translation: 'I would like to thank you for your affectionate sympathy and extend my warmest regards'). Some very light, extremely minor age toning, VG
