Worcestershire Regiment officer's helmet, navy blue canvas-covered leather bomber, six-sided gold tip on trefoil base with four floral rivets, front plate with radiant background, featuring a laurel wreath under the royal crown, with the Empire lion at its center and the motto "Honi soit qui mal y pense" ("Honored be those who think badly") and a silver banner marked "The Worcestershire Regiment", chinstrap with gold rings, visor edged with a brass snap ring, cream leather interior and manufacturer's mark "Samuel Brothers Ltd. Naval and Military Outfitters. 65 & 67 Ludgatehill London", headgear worn but in superb condition, retaining all its gilding, preserved in a metal carrying case marked on a brass plate "Captn M.B. Howitt Royal Surrey Rgt", England late 19th century (probably 1898), The Worcestershire Regiment was a line infantry regiment raised in 1881, and distinguished itself in the First and Second World Wars.
