Uncommon edition of this history of the famous church fathers, decorated with a large framed woodcut on the title page, in red and black, and on f. 6, a large woodcut showing Saint Jerome and his lion. Numerous historiated initials. Freckles and stains; from ff. 48 to 90, a worm hole in upper margin; from ff. 109 to 131, worm gallery roughly restored with damage to a few letters in lower margin. Vellum handled, small tears and chips on spine, small stains, endpapers renewed with restorations and defects. Expert : Ségolène Beauchamp.
