CHINA - Kangxi period (1661-1722)
PAIR OF white porcelain pear-shaped vases with bulbous necks, decorated in blue underglaze with furnishings including ding and gu vases, floral compositions, scholar's objects including scroll paintings, books and manuscripts. The neck is decorated with friezes of stylized cicadas and ruyi heads.

(restoration to the neck on one, chips and small cracks at the base, one of which has been filled in).
