7 Reece Mews in South Kensington, London, served as Bacon’s studio from October 1961 until his death in April 1992. Few people were allowed into the centre of his artistic activities, and even fewer witnessed him painting. In 1998 the entire contents of the studio were donated to the Hugh Lane Gallery in Dublin where they were meticulously reconstructed.
