COMMITTEE OF PUBLIC SAFETY: A good L.S., by four relevant members of the Committee of Public Safety, one page, folio, Paris, 10th August 1794, in French. Signed at the base by Jean Marie Collot d´Herbois (1749-1796) French Actor, Dramatist and Revolutionary. President of the National Convention in June 1793. Although he saved Madame Tussaud from the guillotine, d'Herbois administered the execution of more than 2.000 people in the city of Lyon during the Reign of Terror; Lazare Carnot (1753-1823); Pierre-Louis Prieur (1756-1827), known as Prieur de la Marne, and Jean-Baptiste Treilhard (1742-1810). The four members of the Committee of Public Safety sign at the base of the document approving the proposal received from the Commission of Arms and Powder, recommending to send rifles to the Navy troops in Brest and Rochefort. Small overall age wear, with upper and right edges slightly trimmed, and a very small tear to the upper border, none affecting the signatures. G
