A rare and exceptional violin-shaped carillon sconce in green horn veneer and gilt bronze. It is made up of three parts adorned with a large, finely chased, openwork and gilded bronze trim, in a Rocaille style with motifs of angle falls, gadrooned cartouches, burst grenades, lamp bases, scrolls and leafy counter-volutes. It features a figure of "Young Triton", marine god and messenger of the waves, seated on a sea horse and holding a pike in his left hand. The lower part of the front door is decorated with a scene evoking the fable of the crow and the fox.
