We owe the attribution to Fred G. Meijer of the Pseudo Roestraten, whose style finds similarities with the works of Pieter Gerritsz van Roestraten (Haarlem, 1630 ; London, 1700). The known compositions exhibit a number of recurring elements such as documents, ceramics and precious objects arranged on tables covered with fine oriental carpets.
