(Venice, 1480-/1490 - 1529)
Christ in the house of Martha and Mary
Oil on canvas, 95X134 cm
First recorded in the Fraglia of Venetian painters in 1504, Marconi is supposedly of Bergamasque origin, but biographical information is rather scanty and little is known about his training. However, it is evident from scanning the catalog of his works that from Bellini's foundations his references are updated to the new course of 16th-century Venetian painting, looking to Palma and Titian.
