GEROLAMO BASSANO (Bassano del Grappa, 1566 - 1621) Adoration of the Shepherds Oil on panel, diam. cm 17.5 Provenance: Ruffo di Sicilia Collection (according to the seal on the verso) London, Sotheby's, Dec. 8, 1993, lot 217 (as a follower of Jacopo Bassano) Private collection. Jacopo's last son, Gerolamo was the one who ran the important workshop with his brother Giambattista during the first two decades of the 17th century, producing paintings typical of Bassano's production and copies inferred from his father.
