Charlotte Perriand personally used this table model in her Rio de Janeiro apartment as a console.
The "Equilibre" chain was founded by Pierre Godde on rue d'Algérie in Lyon and, from the 1950s onwards, distributed modernist furniture along the lines of the Marcel Michaud and Folklore galleries. The table shown here is a collaboration between Charlotte Perriand and Robert Sentou. At the time, she was working on a project at Les Arcs, and suggested to Robert Sentou that he mass-produce a table and bench based on a model designed for the garden of her husband's apartment in Rio in 1963. From then on, a first series was designed for the Trois Arcs residence, followed by a second limited series produced in mahogany and distributed exclusively by Sentou.
