Follower of Nicolas de Largillière Portrait of a young lady, half-length in a gold-embroidered red dress and blue wrap; Portrait of a young lady, half-length in a white dress and blue wrap a pair, oil on canvas laid on panel, oval 39.5 x 32cm, in ornate 19th-century gilt gesso frames (2) Condition Report: Overall: 63 x 49cm Craquelure and light surface dirt. Slight thinning to the paint in places, with rubbing to the edges. Under raking light some small bumps in the canvas can be seen (believed to be due to being laid down on board) and the finish appears a little patchy and uneven. There is a very tiny loss to the background in the upper left of the portrait of the young lady in a white dress. Not inspected under UV light, for a full report please contact the department.
