Attributed to Vita d'Ancona (Italian, 1825-1884) A young woman reading signed with initials u.r., oil on canvas 42.5 x 28.5cm Condition Report: overall: 73.5 x 59cm The painting is executed in oil on a canvas support which is unlined. The canvas tension is slightly slack and there are minor undulations across the surface. At the lower right corner is a small tear and the canvas is starting to protrude out of the frame. The paint layers are stable overall, there are a few small areas of abrasion and a loss at the middle of the right hand side. The thin varnish layer has started to degrade and is becoming opaque and mottled in areas, notably the upper left corner.
