Diameters: 35 to 22.5 cm. Enameled and gilded in the center with a peacock and a peacock perched on rocks next to a large peony flower among several floral branches. Some of them have hair and bites. Composed of: 16 pieces. This design, known as "Servicio dos Pavões" or "Double Peacocks Service", stands out as one of the most emblematic in Chinese Export Porcelain, especially appreciated in Portugal and Brazil since there was a time when Portuguese royalty enjoyed it in their table service. During the Napoleonic invasion of Portugal, King João VI, who would later become the emperor of Brazil, was forced to go into exile in Brazilian lands, taking with him his most precious treasures, among them, the six sets of Chinese porcelain, including this magnificent service. This porcelain treasure adorned the tables at both the Paço de São Cristóvão and the Fazenda Imperial de Santa Cruz. However, with the passage of time and the transformation of the Empire into the Republic of Brazil, they were dispersed at auctions held in 1890 by the auctioneer Joaquin Dias dos Santos in Rio de Janeiro, and the present set may belong to them.
