The always extraordinarily sculpturally modeled bodies testify to a lively lightness and can be evaluated as examples of the painter's (classical) drawing art and technique. In our work, a female breast nude is densely composed and larger than life. In Grützke's manner, the realistic design is heightened by exaggerated irony, which creates something artificial and absurd, thus revealing a virtuoso dramaturgy that goes far beyond the conventional, classical design possibilities of the portrait genre and dares to do so. Grützke's works are by no means to be understood as satire, rather they show his great, unbroken interest in being human and demonstrate the way in which the painter approaches his model. Pastel chalk on grayish-brown wrapping paper. Signed and dated upper right.
