o.T. (IV). 1994. acrylic and pigment on paper, collaged on red cardboard. 28.8 x 28.8 cm. Signed, dated and titled. - Corners of card and paper slightly bumped. With small defect in the paper at upper left inherent to the work. With waterstains and studio traces inherent to the work and technique in places, also verso. No retouching recognizable under UV. Good overall. Strongly colored, luminous and vibrant work.
The work is registered in the artist's archive under the WVZ number: PK-1994-002 and will be included in the forthcoming catalog raisonné of works by Ulrich Erben. - We would like to thank Mr. Wolfgang Foerster, Münster, for his kind, scientific support. - In the German artist's work, concrete and consistent pictorial geometry plays a decisive role in Erben's artistic expression. In combination with luminous, pure colors, for which the artist works primarily with pigments, he creates harmonious, self-contained compositions in which form and color intensify each other, significantly influenced by light.
