Provenance: Estate of Horst H. Baumann, Mannheim; directly to him from the artists. - The black and white photographs by the artist couple Becher are visual case studies of disappearing architectural relics. Using a standardized recording procedure, they follow a systematic and clearly defined approach in their documentation. Compiled in so-called typologies, the functional similarities of the industrial giants can be captured as well as structural and regional characteristics.
