Gefeller, Andreas
019 (water reflex), from "The Other Side of Light". Inkjet print, waxed, on photographic paper. Approx. 47.6 x 35.5 (48 x 36 cm). Signed, dated, numbered and titled verso. - Exceptionally good. Magnificent, deep black and rich print.
One of 50 copies. - The work is listed in an enlarged version on the artist's official website. - From the group of works entitled "The Other Side of Light", in our photograph Andreas Gefeller deals with light reflections that form on the surface of the water at the pond in Düsseldorf, where the work was created. The lines and structures are almost unrecognizable to the human eye and seem abstract, mysterious and coded elegance and beauty. Gefeller oscillates playfully and confidently between what we see and recognize and what we cannot recognize - he questions seeing and viewing habits in a confident, aesthetic visual language.
