The Mother of Us All. 1967. color lithograph on wove paper. 91 x 58.3 cm (93.9 x 61 cm). With lithographed work and copyright details in lower margin. - Two slight bumps to upper right, pale brown stains in the upper margin, very few slight creases in two margins, good overall. Splendid, color-intensive and high-contrast impression of the large-format sheet with narrow margins.
Domberger P8. - Printed by Johnson Printing Co., Minneapolis. - In 1966, Indiana approached the world of theater as a set and costume designer for "The Mother of Us All", an adaptation of Gertrude Stein and Virgil Thomson's 1947 opera about activist Susan B. Anthony during the women's rights movement. Our sheet appeared as a lithographed advertising sheet for the play.
Color lithograph on wove paper. With lithographed indications of work and copyright in lower margin. - Lightly bumped in two spots on upper right, tiny faint-brown stains on upper margin, very few light crease marks in two margins, all in all good. Splendid, color-intense and contrast-rich impression of the large-format print with narrow margin.
