Three bladed weapons, North Africa, late 19th - early 20th century
Two Moroccan koumiyya that can be used as a pair, curved wooden handle framed by a gendarme's hat and engraved brass guard, curved single-edged steel blade, wooden scabbard sheathed in copper alloy engraved with floral decoration on one side; an Algerian flissa, handle with engraved brass zoomorphic tip, bolster and blade in engraved steel inlaid with brass, non-original scabbard in wood sheathed in brass finely chased with vegetal decoration.
Length with scabbard: 41, 42.5, 44.5 cm
