Camiseta Uruguay Campeón 1930 Ernesto Mascheroni usada durante el Mundial Historic Uruguayan National Soccer Team jersey belonging to the player Ernesto Mascheroni, used during the first FIFA World Cup held in Uruguay in 1930, tournament in which the Uruguayan National Team won the title of champion. During the years prior to the first World Cup, the Uruguayan National Team wore nationally manufactured clothing, generally without brand labels, and it was on the occasion of the first FIFA World Cup and the inauguration of the Centenario Stadium in 1930 that they opted for St. Margaret's jerseys, an English firm that at that time wore the main soccer teams in America and Europe. This legendary and iconic shirt, of which very few examples are known, has the typical characteristics of the St. Margaret's brand, with its tube seam and a single seam from the armpit to the bottom, reinforced to withstand the rough nature of the game of soccer at the time. Provenance: Manuel Ferreira (1905-1983), captain of the Argentine national soccer team during the World Cup in 1930, to whom it was presented by Mascheroni after the tournament was over. José Ferreira, grandson of the above. Marcelo Ordás, owner of the "Museo Legends: The Home of Football" in Madrid, acquired by him from the previous one. Private Collection in Montevideo, Uruguay, acquired from Marcelo Ordás.
