THE BENTLEY ARNAGE Bentley Motors Limited is a British luxury car manufacturer, founded by Walter Owen Bentley, known as W.O. Bentley, in 1919. W.O. Bentley had made his name manufacturing aircraft engines during the First World War. The first production model, the Bentley 3 Litre, is renowned for its robustness and performance. Bentley became famous in the world of motor racing, winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans five times between 1924 and 1930. A group of wealthy racing enthusiasts, nicknamed the "Bentley Boys", contribute to the brand's fame by winning several races. Bentley faces financial difficulties and is bought by Rolls-Royce. The 3½-liter model, known as the "Silent Sports Car", marks a new beginning for Bentley under the Rolls-Royce umbrella. Under Rolls-Royce ownership, Bentley enjoys a renaissance, with models such as the Mulsanne and Continental.
