Navicula penitentie. Per excellentissimum sacre Pagine doctorem Joannem Keyserspergium Argentinensium Concionatorem Predicata. A Jacobo Othero Collecta. Ecce scebdimus hierosolimam. (On the last leaf:) Augsburg, [Johann Otmar for G. Diemer], 1511. fol. Title in red and black with large, hand-colored title woodcut by Hans Burgkmaier, 5 unnum. Dark brown calfskin binding with scroll and single stamp decorations as well as ornaments made of stamped iron, the cover probably rebound in the 18th century with a thick pigskin spine; the inner covers covered with a fragment of a parchment manuscript. (Covers with heavy scratches and rubbing, without the old brass clasps). VD16 G-772, Adams G-318, first edition, published posthumously by Geiler's secretary Jacob Otter. The first German edition was not published until 1514, also by Otmar in Augsburg. The very fine title woodcut by Burgkmair, here in a well old-colored copy, shows Geiler preaching on the upper ceiling of a ship. Dampstaining throughout, some layers browned. Right outer margin of title cut off and replaced by paper strips (without loss to text and woodcut). Ownership entry by Michael Baumgartner at the head of the title. On the parchment fragments of the inside cover ownership entry by Baron Per Hierta, Främmestad, dated 1900.
