Also published by Hemmerde, also in Halle, in the same year. - Jean Leclerc (also Johannes Clericus, 1657-1736) was a Swiss theologian and philologist. He advocated a critical interpretation of the Bible, broke with Calvinism as a result and was forced to leave Geneva. In 1682 he went to London, but moved on to Amsterdam the very next year and taught there at the College of Remonstrants. - Some worming in the west margin, slightly browned. - Provenance: Nobleman's library.
