Reprint of the first German edition published by Weissenhorn in Augsburg; the original Latin edition was also published by Weissenhorn in 1530. Vincenzo Pimpinella (14885-1534), Archbishop of Rossano in Calabria from 1525, was a staunch opponent of the Reformation. From 1529, he was the first papal nuncio at the Viennese court (1529-1532). Pimpinella delivered his speech to Emperor Charles V and King Ferdinand of Hungary and Bohemia at the Diet of Augsburg on June 21, 1530, in which Pimpinella discusses the Turkish invasion of Hungary. Compared to the original Latin edition, without the poems of praise and the Panegyricus on Pimpinella. Some dampstaining throughout. Long contemporary handwritten entry in German on the last white leaf.
