Prayer rug, Hereke, silk, 20th century, approx. 175 x 120 cm. The gable of the prayer rug is stylishly decorated with 2 flower-filled vases, birds and flowering branches and borders the inner field, which is adorned with a collection of filigree flower motifs and leafy tendrils. The upper part of the main border is decorated with cartouches, the inside of which is covered with Arabic script, and the lower part with palmettes and delicate tendrils, as well as 2 wavy tendril borders. Signed upper right. - Some soiling, overall good condition. D
