Geisha in robe with turtle motif with broom under a tree. 2 color woodcuts put together, around 1900. 36 x 47.5 cm. With signature (not deciphered by us) and seal. The motif shows an incident from the Takasago legend: Matsue and Teoyo collecting pine needles; the two are considered the epitome of a harmonious marriage in Japan. - Probably leaf of a triptych, the right leaf missing. - ╔With: Bernd Kastenholz╗ (1949 Speyer).
