Paris, Hôtel Hérouet, rue des Francs-Bourgeois
Watercolor and ink on paper, signed lower right.
37 x 39 cm.
This small Renaissance hotel was built around 1510-1520 for Jean Hérouet, secretary to the Duc d'Orléans, the future Louis XII, and Treasurer of France.
It was miraculously saved thanks to the intervention of Henri d'Allemagne, a member of the Commission du Vieux Paris, who bought it in 1892 and had it listed in 1908.
