COMPAGNIE INTERNATIONALE DES WAGONS - RECTANGULAR CAR COMPARTMENT BEDS - TYPE S FIRST CLASS BEDS Wood veneered, decorated in the center with a polychrome marquetry of flowers and leaves in an octagonal reserve. 1926. On the reverse, the stencilled number of the sleeper's origin: 2965 and painted inscription: 6 or G. 83.5 x 49.2 cm. Later framed with a Sapelli wood rod. This marquetry, designed by René Prou, decorated certain S-type sleeper cars, series 2943-2967, used on the Orient-Express, Calais-Méditerranée-Express (Train Bleu), Paris Rome Express and other CIWL prestige trains during the 1920s-1930s.
