A WHITE JADE INSCRIBED IMPERIAL POETRY BRUSH POT 清乾隆 白玉御製詩筆筒 China, Qianlong period of cylindrical shape, incised overall with a shallow carved landscape features, depicting a serene scene: a scholar engrossed in reading within a pavilion at the center of a lake, while a fisherman leisurely casts his line along the shores of a lake. Lush pine trees adorn the banks, and inscribed within the sky is a poem composed by Emperor Qianlong. The composition is artfully crafted with exquisite craftsmanship.
