in Boulle marquetry of gilded brass on a tortoiseshell background. The first opens with five drawers: a central one and two and two, while the second opens with four drawers in two and two with a central leaf.
Both desks rest on four cambered legs terminating in chased ormolu sabots. Rich inlaid decoration of a dancing couple, monkeys, espagnolettes on one, a tea ceremony on the other, with ottomans, Chinese, turqueries, monkeying and other abundant Bérain motifs such as foliage and fantastical animals.

The structure of these two pieces of furniture, though different, with their bronze-framed panels, is still in the spirit of Louis XIV. Note the modernism brought by the arched legs on which they rest, typical of the Regency period.
