Oil on agate stone. This interesting Sicilian manufacture shows a representation of Saint Rosalia of Palermo, known in her land as the "Santuzza", following her usual iconography: with the crown of roses placed on her head and carrying the cross in her hands. The angels who accompany her carry the crown and the wand of lilies in allusion to her virginal purity. Painted on an agate, the tone and sinuous shapes of the stone evoke the cave near Monte Pellegrino in which her remains were found; today converted into an important sanctuary and pilgrimage center. It is presented with its original mixtilinear frame in carved and gilded wood with vegetal and rockery decoration. Measurements: 55 x 70 cm.
