Three volumes, small, in-8, brown marbled calf, spine ribbed and decorated, gilt title and tomaison (contemporary binding). Upper jaws cracked and lower jaws partly split, but seams solid, 5/6 caps missing with loss of a thread-edge, 6 corners dulled, snag with small loss to frontispiece of vol. 2. NEW 17th EDITION based on that of 1660, augmented by La Toison d'or (The Golden Fleece). It is illustrated with 3 FRONTISPICES and 24 FIGURES h.-t. (1 at the head of each piece) by F. Chauveau and L. Spirinx; the 24th and last figure, added, is signed G.[abriel] Ladame. ¶ Picot, 141 and 136 for the 1660 edition.
