SENAULT (Fr.). LA VIE DE MADAME CATHERINE DE MONTHOLON widow of Monsieur de Sanzelles Maistre des Requestes, and foundress of the Ursulines of Dijon. Paris, Le Petit, 1653. In-4 brown calf, boards decorated in the Duseuil style with gold-stamped arms in the center, spine ribbed and decorated, gilt title, marbled edges (Binding of the period). 3 corners dulled, headpieces missing, jaws largely split but seams solid, stamp scratched with 2 small holes in margin of title f.. FIRST EDITION. Gilt-edged copy of Charles Le Goux de LA BERCHÈRE (1647-1719), who owned one of the most important libraries of the period, then of the library of René François de Beauvau du Rivau (1664-1739), archbishop of Narbonne, with his handwritten bookplate on the title page. ¶ OHR, 2234.
