India ink signed. 42 X 30 cm Bruno Gilson (1968) is a Belgian cartoonist who decided to pick up his pen and brush on the advice of Dino Attanasio, whom he met in the mid-90s. After studying fine arts, he began drawing comics under the pseudonym Gil. At the same time, he launched the "Le Graphivore" comics review website, which became BD Best in 2013. His first personal album in 2011 was entitled 'Wichita le petit Navajo', a little Indian based on a script by Jacques Devos ('Génial Olivier') in the 'du Manège' collection published by Bagatelle. In 2010, he met François Walthéry, and in 2016 he worked with him on 'De toutes manières', based on a script by Christian Mathoul, published by GProd. That same year, he teamed up with Bruno Di Sano for a sexy horoscope full of pretty women entitled 'Sexyscope'. In 2018, he collaborates with Dragan de Lazare on a parody tribute opus 'Hommage Collatéral' about the comic classics 'Rubine' and 'Natacha'. In 2020, with scriptwriter Hugues Hausman (son of the illustrious René Hausman), work begins on the album 'Dessins Obscurs', a collection of gags in a nod to Franquin's 'Idées noires', published by La surprise du chef in 2022. In 2023, Noir Dessin production publishes the artbook 'Zodiacoquins' via the Ullule crowdfunding platform, as well as a new collaboration with Dragan De Lazare with a brand-new character named Inès, a shock and charm spy for Studio Coup de Noir. The same year sees the launch of a naughty charm series in Dutch, "Rooie Ortjes" Stripboek, and a portfolio devoted to comic tributes to Mucha (SDC éditions). He contributes graphically to the collectives: 'Chansons paillardes' (Éditions du Fourbe Chinois, 2014), 'Concile à bulles' (Collection Armarius, 2014), 'Alianah' - a story by Guy d'Artet de Neufmoustier, the scriptwriter of 'Atoll 66', the 20th album of 'Natacha' - (BD Fly, 2015), 'Belles de Scène' (BD Fly, 2016), 'Menu belge' (2017), 'Lovely Wheels' - a book of legendary cars with the same Liège-based band and authors from the Spa region - (CM éditions), 'Sortilèges III' (BD Fly, 2018) of beautiful sexy witches reprinted in 2022 and 'Femmes de BD' (CM éditions, 2023).
