Ink painting on paper depicting a galloping horse.
Signed Xu Beihong and accompanied by a sentence allegedly written to him by Zhou Enlai, meaning: "All wars to find true democracy, remove all obstacles to find the right path for the people"; one of the seals at bottom right transcribes, in addition, a sentence from a poem by Mao Zedong, declaring that "one should not be afraid of difficulties and should not shrink from anything in order to win".
Mounted in a vertical roll.
