Engraved and polychromed ivory diptych dial. Outer face engraved on two columns with the names of twenty cities and countries with their latitude. Inside face of cover engraved with sundials surmounted by the inscription NORENBERGE FACIEBAT and dated 1557.
Inner side of base plate with names of the eight Mediterranean winds TRAMONT(AM), GRECO, LEVANTE, SIROCHO, OSTRO, LEBECHIO, PONENTE, MASTRO. Inscriptions at bottom HORE AB / ORTV ET OCCASV (hours from dawn).
