Marguerite DELGOBE-DENIKER (Paris 1888-1974).
Peking, Western Hills.
Oil on canvas signed and dated 1924 lower right.
Bears an attendance label for the 1965 Salon des Indépendants on the reverse.
Dimensions: 100x55 cm.
French decorative painter. Student at the Académie Julian.
First exhibited in 1914 at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts, of which she became an associate member. She subsequently exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Indépendants, the Salon des Tuileries and the Salon d'Automne, and also participated in exhibitions in Ghent and Toledo. Her works include "La famille impériale chinoise" and "Ouang-Ti-Té". The Musée Guimet acquired his "Chinese Burial".
