BORDE (Jean) - L'Amour vainqueur de la Haine, Spanish history. Paris, Chez Denis Mouchet, 1712; in-12, IV-284 pp. full calf binding, fair condition. It is probable that this Jean Borde is the author of the novel. This is the hypothesis put forward in a study published in 1885: "L'Université d'Orléans et la typographie" (Mémoires de la Société archéologique et historique de l'Orléanais, t. XX, 1885). In his study of the Borde family in the 17th and 18th centuries (pp. 61-63), the author of the notice considers Jean III Borde to be the author of Histoire espagnole. Jean Borde's Histoire espagnole was part of a tradition. Indeed, the history of the Moors of Granada and the conflict between Zégris and Abencérages had been the source of numerous literary works.
