LARREY (Isaac de) - Histoire de France sous le règne de Louis XIV. Rotterdam, Chez Michel Bohm, 1718-1722; in-4, XVI-681 + table + 890 pp. bound in half calf with small corners, ornate smooth spines, red-painted edges, beige morocco title-pieces and green tomaison. All 3 volumes. 3 volumes bound in 2. Ex-libris Sigismond ancien comte de Salm et Reifferschein. Isaac de Larrey (1639-1719), a Protestant, went into exile in Holland after the revocation of the Edict of Nantes, in order to freely exercise his religious beliefs. His historical works earned him the title of historiographer to the Estates General. Shortly afterwards, the Elector of Brandenburg offered Larrey the title of Conseiller de Cour et d'Ambassade, luring him to Berlin, where he died on March 17, 1719.
