Mummiform sarcophagus with the head of the falcon god Sokar (often associated with Osiris)
He wears a tripartite wig and a multi-row necklace. It is decorated and inscribed. The first scene is illegible. A Nephthys can be seen extending her wings in the middle section. In the lower register, 6 columns of faded inscriptions. The features of the bird's head are underlined. Inside is a mummy of Osiris. It is composed of earth, sand, seeds and bitumen. The formulas refer to Ptah-Sokar-Osiris.
Wood, bitumen and yellow polychrome for the sarcophagus; seeds, organic materials and bitumen for the Osiris.
Egypt, Late Ptolemaic (400-200 B.C.)

These sets were used and buried in ceremonies, invoking the rebirth of the God through the seeds' germ.
