Two tâs bowls, Iran and Near East, 18th - 19th century
Swollen-body, straight-lipped bowls in hammered copper alloy with engraved decoration. The first, probably 18th century, with a later neck, is decorated with a plant lattice punctuated with fleurons on a champlevé ground, two friezes of bifid palmettes framing the main register, a corolla of petals engraved below the base; the second is decorated with a frieze of mandorles alternately decorated with inscriptions in Arabic thuluth, foliage decorated with bifid palmettes, or a lattice.
Height: 12 and 7 cm; inside diameter: 13.3 and 15.3 cm
Minor dents, scratches, traces of oxidation.
