Two pages from a single album of poetic calligraphy, Iran qâjâr, 19th century Persian calligraphies on nasta'liq shekaste paper in black ink, both mounted as album pages with fine borders and a wide colored margin and bound together. The first has a blue margin and consists of 6 obliquely handwritten couplets, signed lower left Mirzâ Kuchak. The second page has a red margin, bound to the previous one, with the text obliquely inscribed in two cartouches framed by a gilded border. Calligraphy size: 7.7 x 4.3 cm and 4.9 x 3.4 cm; page size: 30 x 21 cm. Slight stains and wear. Provenance : Collection of M. Mohajer Mîrza Kuchak Esfahânî, also known as Mohammad Qasem, was a great master shekaste calligrapher active at the turn of the 19th century.
