Berber powder flask called rbi'a del baroud, Morocco, Middle Atlas, late 19th - early 20th century
A pear-shaped leather powder flask topped by a cylindrical turned-bone mouthpiece closed by a turned-wood stopper to which it is attached by a garnet cord. The entire body is decorated with brass nails forming several lines, a rhombus and a rosette, while the leather on the upper part is embossed to form tongues. Two metal rings on the sides allow a hanging cord to be attached.
