"Triumphant Infant Jesus" Round sculpture in polychrome lead. Sevillian School, S. XVIThe base is made of carved and polychrome wood.
During the 17th century there was a proliferation of polychrome pewter devotional images, especially for the Indian market.
Pewter was an alloy of lead, copper, tin and antimony that was widely used during the seventeenth century, it was a great technical advance because until then the proper way was to use wood. With base: 65 x 30 x 25 cms. Height of the Child Jesus without base: 53 cm.
