INDIA / GUJARAT - 11th/12th Century sculpture (height and width : 79 x 46 cm) - a so-called stele - in red sandstone representing "Buddha Sakyamuni" Buddha is in the state of "parinirvana" and is flanked by two apsaras ("heavenly nymphs"). Above them are several images of Buddha figures. Below the throne is a smaller Buddha figure flanked by followers
