Poplar core case decorated on all sides with pastiglia on a gold background, standing on round, flattened feet. Decorated with scenes from Roman history: front, a troop of soldiers in front of a fortress with a woman; back, probably the continence of Scipio represented seated on his throne surrounded by his soldiers; left side, Lucretia; right side, Brutus naked and standing on a pedestal haranguing a troop.
