with curved front and sides, decorated in European lacquer in imitation of Oriental lacquer, gold on a black background with animated landscapes in the Far Eastern style, on the front and sides, all framed with gilded bronze scrolls. It opens with two drawers with concealed crosspieces, allowing the decoration to cover the front, and stands on curved legs. Fixed leafed handles, falls and sabots. Sainte Anne gray marble top. H: 87.5 - W: 130 - D: 62 cm Rubs, lacquer chips, restorations, added marble Some of the bronze motifs, particularly those on the frames, are similar to those on commodes by Criaerd and Delorme. The "cul de lampe" is found on a commode by Pierre Roussel illustrated in Les ébénistes du XVIIIe siècle français, 1963, p. 131.
