made of wood and cardboard covered with engraved paper to reproduce the apparent movement of the sun and moon, represented by cardboard disks fixed on brass armatures, free to rotate. The globe, whose cartography consists of twelve spindles, bears the inscription Globe / Terrestre/A Paris/Chez Delamarche Geogr/rue du Foin Jacques/au collège de/Me Gervais in a cartouche. It is located at the center of a system of rings representing meridian circles (arctic pole circle, tropic of cancer, equator, tropic of capricorn, antarctic pole circle), equatorial circles (colure of equinoxes, colure of solstices) and the ecliptic ring, each identified and graduated. Longitude, zodiac signs and months are indicated on the equatorial table. Turned blackened wood base. Early 19th century.
