November 23, 1903: Guillemot wants to see the encaustic work: "I have a painting for the Salon in full execution, there are pieces in all states that may perhaps interest you"... June 28, 1904. Sends him a "little tableautin[...] it's really only encaustic that doesn't deceive"; he thanks him for his article. July 25, 1094. He keeps the little painting: "I'm going to do the work on the monotypes in the country and will return it to you in the autumn. P. Louys and I will do the book together"... Sept. 24, 1905. He has recommended Guillemot to the librarian of the École Polytechnique, who wants to write a note on the excavations at the school, and urges him to go and see "his library, his museum, his Fragonard, you won't see a finer one"... Sept. 22, 1907. He wants a few issues of the Revue, "containing Vaillat's article on my encaustic painting"; he is delighted with his working stay in Italy "It's hard, but admirable, you really have to live in a city like Venice for a long time to understand it"... February 1, 1910: two same letters sent to two different addresses, during the floods: "Are you affected or drowned by Water?"; it's not about floods, but an urgent request: "Take a sheet of letter-paper from Le Siècle and write me this - I agree to write my memories of Time 1871. But this letter must be dated December 5, 1909. I'll tell you why when you come to Sèvres"...
